The Campo Schnitzer will roll and flake oat groats. The Campo with stone rollers is not recommended to be used to roll seeds with a high oil content.

Speed will vary depending upon how fast you crank and how tightly the rollers are adjusted. The Campo flakes up to 150g per minute.

The Campo uses two geared stone rollers with an infinitely variable adjustment, so you can flake your grains as fine or as coarsely as you desire. The rollers are adjusted to a gap of between ~ 0.3-1.5mm and produce a crushed oat flake, coarser than the factory multi-rolled oat, but sufficiently pressed to release all the fresh goodness of the grain for immediate use. We also have the option of Stainless Steel rollers, these allow other seeds (eg oil seeds) to be pressed thru the roller (dry grains recommended for the stone rollers).

Body of the Campo is made of Beech wood finished with linseed oil. Hopper holds roughly 100g of grain. Includes a strong table clamp. Unit is 28cm high, 16cm wide. The unit is clamped to the bench-top, with a maximum thickness of the bench/table-top being 55mm.

Any purchase of a roller also includes 1kg of our groat oats. These are our best oat groats - which are oats that have been dehulled (shell taken off), steamed (to stabilise them).

The groats are packaged into a 1kg stand up, re-sealable pouches. We also have 3kg and 10kg bags of groats available for purchase from our store.

Groat Oats
Groat Oats are created by steaming/stabilising de-hulled oat grains.
These are the simplest form of oat - just the raw oat from the paddock with his/her shell taken off and steamed to stabilise the inner oat goodness (and so he/she doesn’t sprout!). These are perfect for all types of cooking, or rolling with our hand stone oat rollers.
